Service Policy

This Service Policy outlines important information regarding appointments, alteration services, payments, and customer responsibilities at Smita Alterations. Our goal is to provide clear expectations and ensure a smooth experience for every client.


Appointments

All services are provided by appointment only.

Appointments may be requested through our website using Square Appointments or other approved scheduling methods.

Please arrive on time for your appointment. If you arrive significantly late, the appointment may need to be shortened or rescheduled to accommodate other scheduled clients.

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, we kindly ask that you provide advance notice whenever possible.


Fittings

For accurate fittings, clients may be asked to bring:

  • Proper shoes for the garment

  • Undergarments that will be worn with the outfit

  • Any accessories that affect garment fit

Complex garments such as bridal gowns, formal dresses, or custom garments may require multiple fittings.


Alteration Limitations

All alteration services depend on the construction, fabric, and condition of the garment.

Certain alterations may not be possible due to:

  • Fabric structure

  • Garment design limitations

  • Previous alterations performed elsewhere

  • Fabric weakness or wear

Smita Alterations will make reasonable recommendations based on professional judgment.


Turnaround Time

Turnaround time varies depending on:

  • Garment complexity

  • Current workload

  • Seasonal demand

Estimated completion times may be provided during the fitting appointment but are not guaranteed completion deadlines.

Rush services may be available depending on availability.


Garment Condition

Garments should be brought in clean and in wearable condition.

Smita Alterations is not responsible for damage caused by:

  • Weak or delicate fabrics

  • Pre-existing garment defects

  • Fabric deterioration due to age or wear

  • Previous alterations performed elsewhere

Clients acknowledge that certain fabrics may carry inherent risks during alteration.


Payment Policy

Payment is typically due upon completion of the alteration service unless otherwise agreed.

Smita Alterations accepts payments through Square and other supported payment methods.

For complex garments such as bridal alterations or extensive tailoring work, a deposit may be required before work begins.

Deposits help reserve fitting time and cover preparation work.


Refund Policy

Because alteration services involve custom work performed on individual garments, completed alteration services are generally non-refundable.

If a fit issue arises directly related to the alteration work performed, Smita Alterations will make reasonable adjustments when possible.

Additional alteration requests beyond the original scope of work may require additional charges.


Garment Pickup

Clients are encouraged to pick up completed garments promptly.

Garments not picked up within 90 days of completion may be considered abandoned and may be donated or otherwise disposed of.


Final Fit Responsibility

Clients are responsible for inspecting garment fit at the time of pickup.

Any concerns regarding fit should be communicated promptly so that adjustments can be evaluated.
